CCD Night
The Music Troupe of NIT Trichy staged their flagship event of the semester – “CCD Night” on the 9th of October. The musical evening, though sandwiched amidst CTs drew quite a large number of people who stayed to watch their friends perform. It started at 6.30PM and went on till 9.
Staying true to its hype, the Music Troupe came up with an impressive set list that had an eclectic mix of eastern, western , jazz and rock genres. This was also a special evening of sorts because it witnessed the unveiling of the third year band – “Midnight Spacemen”. It was their first performance as a band on stage. It was an eventful evening for everyone who attended the show as the members of the troupe kept the audience entertained, while giving a much needed break from their otherwise hectic life.

Musical Evening by Prayer Cell

A musical evening held by the NITT Prayer Cell on 10th October at EEE Auditorium.

Litweek ’18
This semester’s edition of Litweek, conducted by Balls By Picasso, took place at A2 Hall from the 22-26 of October. There were a plethora of events such as What’s the Good Word, Cryptic Crossword, JAM and quizzes. This edition also featured a new event – GAnimeToonIcs quiz, which featured a mix of anime, gaming, cartoons and garnered a crowd of avid fans. Prizes were given out to winners of the respective events.

Ethnic Night
Ethnic Night, an evening of music and dance was conducted in the Barn Hall by AIESEC in NIT Trichy on 23rd October. The hall was decorated to suit the occasion and its theme – ‘Celebration of the myriad colours in the spectrum’.
Proceedings kicked off with the arrival of Director of the NIT Trichy, Dr. Mini Shaji Thomas and Dean of Student Welfare, Dr Samson Matthew.
The first event of the evening was the Mr and Ms Ethnic Night competition. Finalists were judged upon their SOPs, views upon affairs like #MeToo movement and other questions. The winner was decided on a mix of audience and judge scoring. Ullaskrish Janardan came out to be Mr Ethnic while Ms Ethnic went to Midhula J.
The highlight of the evening was the DJ Night where the crowd grooved to beats with the event finally concluding at 10PM.

Dandiya Night
Dandiya Night, an event by Aayam, was held in celebration of the folk dance on 26th October in the Barn Hall. The occasion was graced by the Director, Dr. Mini Shaji and Dr. B. Ramadoss. The aarti was lit by Dr. Mini Shaji after which she addressed the students who had gathered. The formalities ended with the winners of Mr. Dandiya, Ms. Dandiya and Ms. Costume being announced.
The rest of the night was filled with students dancing, or attempting to dance with their sticks to all kinds of music from traditional Dandiya beats to Tamil kuthu songs.
