‘Moonlight’ was the first event entirely conceptualized and organized by the newly selected Core team of Aaveg- the first years’ fest.
“Such an event hasn’t happened before. Usually, they (the first years) are allowed to participate only in the Freshers’ Night and Aaveg. We felt the need to have events in between them. Thus, Moonlight. This event has had an awesome response, thanks to our enthusiastic juniors”, said the Chairperson of Aaveg.
Surprisingly, the black-and-white themed event witnessed almost everyone following the code. The event began with a prayer song, followed by the dignitaries lighting the lamp. Then, the former Chairperson introduced the present Aaveg Core to the gathering. The heads of the Organizing Committee, the Content Team and the Design Team gave a brief talk on how and when the inductions for the Aaveg team will take place.
Following this, the lights were turned off, the effect of the soothing ambiance kicked in. A duet performance by the Mr. and Ms. Fresher took place followed by music and dance performances by every first year hostel. Hostel chants and even chants of ‘Aaveg’ were heard over the high octane performances of the bands.Once all the performances concluded, delicious food was served by our very own Vinayaka caterers.
Chairs were stacked, lights were turned off and a deep voice shouted, ‘Are you ready?!’ The DJ night had started. The crowd gave the disciplinary committee a tough time as they went wild dancing to the beats of the EDM. People were lifted, photos were taken and ultimately, everyone was satisfied. Moonlight was a phenomenal success.
All’s well that ends well. Moonlight came to an end with one final chant of ‘Aaveg’.
