They don’t just limit themselves to racing their dreams, but help fellow enthusiasts in finding their passion. The PSI Racing team of NIT Trichy conducted The Automotive and Design Workshop from the 17th to 20th of October 2016 as a platform to introduce the present batch of first and second years to the world of Automobile Engineering.
What starts as a fleeting interest can become a passion with the right exposure, and the workshop aimed to do just that. The 4 day workshop saw over 100 students attend and learn basic Automobile Engineering and Design Software. The compact syllabus chosen was ideal with no prerequisites and concepts were taught from scratch to leave no margin of doubt. While the theory session were facilitated by the use of video aids in the Automobile Workshop, the practical session that aided in further understanding was held in the Automobile Lab. The Design workshop was a hands-on session on CREO and an introductory session on ANSYS, which are the most widely used software in the field of design. Equipped with the right tutoring, the participants were successful in designing components of their own by the end of the session.
Having received a highly positive feedback with special emphasis on the approachability of the organizers in getting their doubts cleared, the team is highly enthusiastic about organizing the workshop next year for a longer duration as per the request of the participants.
