Freelance: Darkness and Light
Why is it so that I love the cold,
Not the sunshine, strong and bold.
Why do I like the cold breeze against my face,
Often sharp that can make me sick for days
Why do I shy away from the sunlight,
Why never bask in the glory of it,
Why dance away in the moonlight,
Where I can stumble and fall in the darkness that prevails.
Perhaps because in the darkness I can enjoy every ray of light
In the cold I can be comforted by the little warmth each night
Too much of warmth seems to burn you up
All happiness can be lost at the slightest touch,
So even though I seem to enjoy the dark,
Its light I love.
Fire in ice and the little stars above.
